An Imari blue and white large deep bowl
Edo period (1615-1868), late 17th century
Boldly painted in underglaze blue on the exterior with a continuous design of two dragons clutching a flaming tama (jewel) above a narrow geometric band, the interior well painted with a coiled dragon beneath the rim with a border of stylized foliate pendants enclosed within lobed rectangular panels. 17.5cm x 32.8cm (6 7/8in x 12 7/8in).
