An Unusual .577 Snider Patent Saw-Handled Pistol
By T. Sylven, 44 Bedford St., Strand, London, No. 167, Circa 1865

With sighted barrel signed in full along the top, pivoting breech-block engraved 'Snider's Patent' and 'Z.N. No. 167', scroll engraved tang, signed border engraved flat lock decorated with foliate scrollwork, figured three-quarter stock, chequered rounded butt with short spur, foliate scroll engraved steel mounts comprising butt-cap and trigger-guard, the former with lanyard ring, and trigger-plate with foliate scroll engraved finial, Birmingham proof marks
17.7 cm. barrel
