A Pair Of Liège 15-Bore Flintlock Rifled Officer's Pistols
Early 19th Century

With twist swamped octagonal sighted polygroove rifled barrels, foliate engraved tangs each with back-sight, border engraved flat bevelled locks and cocks (one fractured, the other an old replacement), the former each with semi-rainproof pan and roller, moulded figured full stocks each carved with foliage, unusually chequered butts heightened with silver pins, steel side-plates each engraved with addorsed lions, spur trigger-guards (one spur incomplete) engraved with a hound on the bow and each with flowering urn-shaped finial, pommel-caps each engraved with a large flower-head, turned ramrod-pipes (one damaged), vacant silver escutcheons, and ramrods, one of steel with turned brass tip, the other with horn tip (2)
