An English Silver-Hilted Small-Sword
London Silver Hallmarks For 1757, Indistinct Maker's Mark

With bright colichemarde blade of sharply tapering hollow triangular section etched on one side with a foliated rectangular panel of strapwork centred on a sun-in-splendour over a flower in an oval, and with faint traces of etched decoration on the other, the hilt of similar form to the last and with bright-cut borders, and grip bound with silver ribbon and four strands of twisted silver wire, in original scabbard covered in blackened leather with later foliate engraved silver locket and chape, the former with two rings for suspension
