A purple gauze 'nine dragon' robe, jifu

19th century
Finely woven in gold thread with nine writhing five-clawed dragons amongst clouds scrolls, the Eight Buddhist emblems, bajixiang, and the Eight Daoist emblems, ba anxian, above crashing waves on the lishui, with black and gold striped sleeve extensions, terminating in horseshoe dragon cuffs. 137cm (54in) long.
