A biscuit famille verte figure of a Guardian King and a fahua-style figure of Lu Dongbin

16th/17th century to Kangxi
The first figure of a ferocious bearded Buddhist Guardian of the Four Directions, dressed in full battle armour, with later soapstone hands as if holding a spear, hongmu stand; the figure of the standing Immortal modelled with loose robes open at the large belly, the body and head biscuit fired, the robe with a dark blue lead glaze, atop a square plinth. The largest: 33cm (13in) high (2).
