A pair of biscuit-fired models of toads

Kangxi, the enamels later
Each toad formed recumbent with a wide squat body and upturned head with bulging eyes, the skin with moulded bosses to imitate warts, with large foliate apertures to the backs, probably later enamelled, 'clobbered' in the West, with carved lotus-leaf form, hard wood stands.
Each: 30cm (11 3/4in) long (4).
