A wucai 'birds and flowers' baluster jar and a cover

Mid-17th century
The elegantly potted jar finely enamelled with short-tailed birds flying amongst peony and chrysanthemum sprays issuing from rockwork, the shoulder and vertical neck with bands of T-fret, diaper and stylised flames, all reserved on a cell diaper ground, together with a matched wucai lid, 17th century.
The jar: 29cm (11 3/8in) high (2).
