A George IV birds' eye maple low breakfront cabinet

Circa 1830, the marble top above a pair of central doors enclosing one adjustable shelf, flanked by two glazed doors enclosing two adjustable shelves, 168cm wide x 36cm deep x 76cm high, (66in wide x 14in deep x 29 1/2in high)

Footnotes

Both the bead-and-reel and egg-and-dart mouldings which feature on the offered lot are highly reminiscent of the work of Gillows during the 1820s and 1830s while the fine construction and use of birds' eye maple might also suggest a possible attribution to the renowned cabinet making firm.
