A Flemish 17th century tortoiseshell, ebony, bone, princeswood and ivory cabinet

With thirteen drawers and a pair of central doors with Atlas herm pilasters, enclosing seven drawers and a mirrored chequer-inlaid recess, on a later base, 114cm wide x 51cm deep x 102cm high, (44 1/2in wide x 20in deep x 40in high)

A letter dated 8 March 1923, which is addressed to the then vendor Miss E.A. Jones at The Vicarage, Llanidloes, Wales, from "Our Homes and Gardens", London, W.C.2, describes the present lot in detail. This letter is available to view online at www.bonhams.com, together with a contemporary photograph of the offered cabinet.
