A steel jewel casket

Tula, circa 1810
shaped ovoid tapering to a stepped square base supported on four compressed bun feet, the sides applied with parcel-gilt floral garlands and gilt tooling, the hinged dome cover opening to reveal mirror and decorated en-suite, the body flanked and surmounted by swing handles
height: 22cm (8 11/16in).
