AN EXPORT CHINA DINNER PLATE FROM THOMAS JEFFERSON.

A Chinese Export porcelain plate, bearing the J and Shield pattern of the Thomas Jefferson Presidential Service, hand-painted dark blue edges, relieved in gold, in the center the script initial "J" enclosed in a Neoclassical shield outlined in blue enamel with 13 gold stars, surmounted by a knight's helm, circa 1790, 10 inches diameter, small chip to one edge, gilt rubbed to "T" in monogram.
Provenance: ink note to sticker verso: "Monroe and Jackson plates were presented to the White House in 1902. Jefferson they had."
