KENNEDY USHERS IN THE JET AGE ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE.
A full size Boeing 707 fuselage retrofitted as a replica of SAM 26000 John F. Kennedy's Air Force One, after the design by Raymond Loewy, created by Steve Cannaby and his team at Nu-Tek Aircraft Instruments, 46 feet long, and including retrofitted cockpit and instruments, communications center, state room, crew seating area, and personal quarters, all outfitted with period furniture based on the original, with period detailed decorations, including a replica of Jackie Kennedy's pink dress worn the morning of November 22, 1963, all in good condition, with some wear from exhibition.
Provenance: Used as Nixon Air Force One set for the 1995 Oliver Stone film Nixon; purchased by Jim Warlick, American Presidential Experience, converted to specifications for Kennedy Air Force One by Nu-Tek; exhibited Kansas Aviation Museum, Cockpit Fest, 2013; exhibited JFK Air Force One Exhibit, Frontiers of Flight Museum, Love Field, Dallas, TX, November 2013.
A FULL-SCALE REPLICA OF JFK'S AIR FORCE ONE, THE PRESIDENTIAL PLANE JOINS THE JET AGE. In 1943, President Roosevelt became the first U.S. President to fly on a plane while in office when he flew to the Casablanca conference aboard a Boeing 314 Clipper. Truman had the Independence, and used a smaller Constellation 8800, and Eisenhower employed a number of different planes, but it was J.F.K. who ushered in the jet age of Air Force One when he had a Boeing 707 specifically fitted as a presidential plane, including bringing in famed designer Raymond Loewy who helped Jackie design the interiors as well as a fresh, distinct livery (exterior design), the basis of which has been used for all Air Force Ones since.
This is an exhibition quality full-scale fuselage from a Boeing 707, retrofitted as a replica of Kennedy's original Air Force One in minute detail by Steve Cannaby and Nu-Tek Aircraft Instruments, who also did the Air Force One Flight Simulator for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum in Simi Valley, CA. Nu-tek worked from original blueprints and photographs, and including original flight seats converted from the Quayle-Gore Air Force Two.
The re-creation includes the full cockpit, crew officers' work stations, the state room (where Johnson was sworn in as President), as well as the President's quarters, and the new livery introduced by the Kennedy's with the help of Raymond Loewy, all re-created in minute detail from original designs. WITH a few original artifacts from the real Air Force One, and a reproduction of Jackie's famed pink dress she wore on Air Force One the morning of November 22, 1963. This Air Force One has toured the country several times, and appeared at two National Party Conventions.
A beautiful, exhibition quality re-creation of the Air Force One that changed the way we think of presidential air travel, and accomplished with remarkable attention to detail.

Disassembly (if required), removal and shipping of this lot must be arranged by the buyer, although the present owner of the Lot will cooperate in such efforts. The successful buyer must remove the model by October 24, 2020.
