FDR's U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES BLANKET.

Pale blue wool blanket with U.S. Army Air Forces logo printed in center, approximately 180 x 120 cm, with serged edges, folded, slight yellowing of fabric.

USAAF BLANKET USED BY FDR ON PRESIDENTIAL FLIGHTS. FDR was stricken with polio at the age of 39, resulting in paralysis from the waist down. He continued his political career, but was self-conscious about his disability and could frequently be seen with a blanket across his lap, whether in a wheelchair or car seat. The logo of the U.S.A.A.F. on this blanket dates it from after 1941.
