A KENNEDY FAMILY LANTERN.

A wall lantern from a Kennedy family home, glass and green-painted sheet metal, height: 610 mm, wear to paint, spots of rust, electrical cord on reverse lacking plug.
Provenance: Sotheby's, Property From Kennedy Family Homes, February 15-17, 2005, lot 150.

Probably converted from a gas lamp, this lantern has been retrofitted with electrical wiring and provision for a conventional Edison-base light bulb.
