A HARRY S. TRUMAN SIGNED BASEBALL.

A Official Babe Ruth League baseball signed by President Harry S. Truman ("Harry S. Truman") in green ink across the sweet spot, a DeBeer and Son No 93 ball, 5 oz, 9 inches circumference.
Provenance: signed certificate of authenticity from Written Word Autographs ("Dan and Liz Rowe"); and from autograph expert Stephen Koschal.

A TRUMAN SINGLE SIGNED BASEBALL—A PRESIDENTIAL BALL RARITY. When Harry Truman first took office in 1945 after the death of Roosevelt, no American President had attended a baseball game since 1941. In an effort to show the American people at peace, Truman attended more baseball games than any other American President. A personal friend of Clark Griffith, the namesake of the Washington Senators stadium, Truman threw out the first pitch there on September 8, 1945, and appeared another 15 times before leaving office after the 1952 season.
