Photograph Signed ("William H. Taft") and Inscribed, 428 x 280 mm, gelatin silver print, a three-quarter length seated portrait, Washington DC, 1908, with illegible photographer's name, place and copyright date in pencil in lower border, inscribed at white lower margin "For John A. Dessman with the best wishes of Wm. H. Taft — July 19, 1909." Surface scratches to emulsion, framed, not glazed.

AN UNUSUAL SIGNED PORTRAIT PHOTO OF TAFT, poised as if about to leap from his chair, does not appear in the catalogue of Taft photos at the Library of Congress.
