A Clichy concentric millefiori pedestal or piedouche paperweight, circa 1850

with five well-constructed rows of canes in green, pink, blue and white, the outer row with white Clichy roses alternating with pastry-mould canes in red and green, a blue and white pastry-mould cane in the centre, within a basket of pink and white staves lined with a fine ring of 'moss' canes, raised on a circular pedestal base, 6.6cm diam, 5.3cm high
