An Art Glass aquatic vase, Moser of possibly Stourbridge, circa 1890

Of cylindrical form in clear glass with trailed and applied decoration, the rim and base thickly trailed in dark green weed from which green bulrushes grow, the resulting panels applied with three swimming carp, the fish moulded in high relief in pink glass, 29cm high

Footnotes

The trailed decoration is very much in the Moser style although the absence of gilding and enamelling suggests this is not a Bohemian production. Daniel and Lionel Pearce worked on 'padded' decoration at Thomas Webbs, applying coloured relief that was moulded before being cut. Leo Kaplan bought a number of pieces with Pearce family connections (see lot 322)
