A Frankenthal candlestick group, circa 1766

Modelled by Johann Friedrich Lück, with a kneeling figure with a long beard and wearing a turban, a floral-patterned robe with puce train at the rear, yellow trousers and iron-red-striped shoes, supporting a palm-tree with an apeture at the top, to his left a chinoiserie figure of a woman reclining on a scrollwork ledge, wearing a pointed hat, flower-decorated dress with white apron and yellow train, the base modelled with pierced, gilt- and purple-edged scrollwork, 19cm high, crowned CT monogram, AB and 6 in underglaze-blue (restored)
