A rare Meissen circular stand, circa 1725

Painted with four Kauffahrtei scenes around the rim, depicting merchants and their wares by a quayside, reserved against an underglaze-blue and gilt trellis band, the well painted with sprigs of indianische Blumen within a band of gilt foliate scrollwork, the reverse with three iron-red branches of indianische Blumen, 21.9cm diam., large crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue
