A rare pair of Meissen Hausmaler teabowls and saucers, circa 1720-30

Decorated in Augsburg in gilding and silver with chinoiserie scenes depicting figures engaged in various pursuits, on the saucers on different strapwork brackets, the inside of the teabowls with a bird perched on a leafy branch, the rims with gilt borders edged with foliate motifs, the footrims gilt (silver tarnished, minor wear) (4)

A pair of early Meissen chocolate cups decorated in silver and gilding with hunting scenes was sold from the collection of the Margraves of Baden, Sotheby's Baden-Baden, 7 October 1995, lot 1335.
