Two Sèvres trays from the service purchased by M. de Mauroy, circa 1784

Plateaux 'losanges' (plateaux de saucière), each painted with scattered flowers sprays, the rims an undulating pink ribbon intermittently tied in bows surrounded by scattered flower sprays between gilt dot bands, 29.5cm long, interlaced LL monograms and date letters gg, painter's marks for Madame Bouillat, gilder's mark for P.-J.-B. Vandé (fils) (small restored chip to one rim) (2)

Various letters in the Sèvres archives between de Mauroy and Regnier, the factory director, point to the fact that de Mauroy was acting as an intermediary and purchasing the service on behalf of a third party.
