Footnotes

For a discussion of the distinctive style of this painter, which can also be found on Chinese and Meissen porcelain, suggesting a factory painter who also engaged in Hausmaler work on the side, see M. Chilton/C. Lehner-Jobst, Fired by Passion, vol. I (2009), pp. 501ff.
