A rare Meissen candlestick, circa 1765

The knopped shaft rising from a domed foot, moulded with panels of bell-flowers and acanthus leaves below the sconce, painted in underglaze-blue with two vignettes of putti playing alternating with pendant flowers, the shaft with foliate borders and the base with foliate swags, 24cm high, crossed swords mark and dot and L in underglaze-blue
