EINSTEIN, ALBERT. 1879-1955.

Autograph Note Signed ("A. Einstein"), in German, 1 p, 16mo, [Berlin, December, 1925], black ink on paper a half sheet, extracted from an album amicorum.

Einstein's philosophical sentiment for an album amicorum: "As an avant-garde of peace, scholars would have achieved something valuable, they are not needed as a last defense." ("Die Gelehrten haetten als Avan-Garde des Friedens Wertvolles leisten konnen als Landsturm wird man sie kaum mehr brauchen.") Written according to a note at the foot of the page in Berlin in 1925.
