This piece is a cruet from a condiment stand that accompanied the Mecklenburg-Strelitz service. The set was commissioned by George II and Queen Charlotte and presented to her brother Duke Adolphus Frederick IV of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in 1764. An identical cruet forms part of the set in the Bow Room at Buckingham Palace.
