by Thomas Holland, London 1800
Of traditional skep form, the lid surmounted by a cast bee finial and with colourless glass liner, height 11cm, weight 11oz.

Footnotes

This model, which clearly replicates the bound straw coils of a beehive is closely associated with Paul Storr and seems to have been developed by him. An example by Storr is recorded from 1793 and a further example dating from 1799 is illustrated in Paul Stor, N.M.Penzer, Batsford, 1954, page 105.
