Two kakemono by Nomura Bunkyo (1854-1911)
Meiji era
The first is in the Shijo-style depicting two figures drinking tea in a pine grove beside a stream, clouds swirl among the tree tops, with inscription and seal, colour and ink on silk, image 119.5cm x 42.5cm, mounted on silk brocade with ivory scroll ends, with box, the second in the Nanga-style of a pavilion behind pine trees beside flowering river reeds, signed Bunkyo with seals, colour and ink on silk mounted on silk brocade with ivory scroll ends.
