A large lacquered ceramic charger

Meiji era
Lacquered in red, black and gold takamaki-e with a Ranryo-o and an accompanying dancer holding a baton and performing in front of a curtain decorated with roundels of mythical beasts and ho-o (phoenix) hung from pine branches behind which a flaming drum rests, a snake and maple leaves scattered over the ground.
