A rare .41 'Volcanic' lever-action carbine by New Haven Arms Company (circa 1857-60)

Brass receiver, the left side-plate possibly replacement, with some foliate-scrollwork engraving, retaining some silver-plate finish, the lower tang stamped "44", the rear lower tang screw numbered "59", the figured replacement stock with brass crescent butt-plate with some finish engraved en suite, the barrel engraved New Haven Conn. Patent Feb. 14 ... (indistinct), with full-length integral magazine-tube, muzzle sleeve, brass fixed blade foresight and adjustable rear-sight
