An exceptional Ulrich engraved .44 (R.F.) 'Model 1866' lever-action rifle by Winchester, no. 109544 (circa 1873)

The 'Fourth Model' receiver engraved with foliate-scrollwork, shell-motifs, fine borderwork, matt and stippled backgrounds, crosshatching and shading, the left side-plate with cross and coronet motif, with virtually full nickel-plated finish, the top-tang with graduated peep-sight, the left side of lower tang stamped with "V" and "X", indistinct assembly number is found in the top tang channel of buttstock and serial number is found on inside of butt-plate, the well-figured stock with nickel-plated butt-plate engraved en suite with trap (with four-piece cleaning rod), sling-swivels, the forestock with bright cap engraved en suite, the octagonal barrel engraved Winchester's-Repeating-Arms.
