A deluxe factory engraved .44 (R.F.) 'Model 1866' lever-action rifle by Winchester, no. 27415B (circa 1869)
The 'Third Model' brass receiver, originally silver-plated, engraved in the Ulrich style with bold foliate-scrollwork on a stippled ground, with some silver-plate remaining on the lower tang, the left side of lower tang stamped with "S" and "XX", serial number "7415" is found in the top tang channel of buttstock and inside of butt-plate, the well-figured XX stock with brass butt-plate and trap engraved en suite and later neat inscription CO-532-16-44230, sling swivels with leather strap (forward defective), the forestock with cracked brass cap engraved en suite, the octagonal barrel engraved Winchester's-Repeating Arms.
