The 'First Model' receiver with dust-cover, the left front flat engraved Wilkinson, 27 Pall Mall, London in scrolling banner, the right side flat engraved with the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales and by appointment in ribbon, the side plates, hammer, dust cover and guard all engraved with bold foliate-scrollwork, the top tang with folding adjustable peep-sight, the well-figured chequered shotgun stock (likely a Wilkinson replacement) with inset '58' in wood, engraved heel-and toe-plates, nickel-plated engraved fore-stock cap, the round barrel with flat file-cut sight-plane, engraved Wilkinson & Son, London, Gunmakers to Her Majesty & The Prince of Wales with full-length magazine-tube, bead foresight and fixed sight for 100 and folding leaf-sights for 200 and 500 yards
