A .44-40 'Model 1892' lever-action saddle-ring carbine by Winchester, no. 861646 (dated 1919)
The receiver plain, retaining virtually-full blued finish (probably rewewed), ring and staple, the lower tang stamped Century Arms Inc St. Albans, VT., the assembly number "1284" is found in the top tang channel of buttstock and inside of butt-plate, the stock with blued steel butt-plate and wood-filled sling-swivel mount, the forend with sling-swivel mount, the round barrel engraved Manufactured By The Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven. Conn. U.S.A. Patented October 14.1884., with full-length magazine-tube, block-mounted blade foresight and folding adjustable ladder rear-sight
