The receiver retaining full re-blued finish, later engraved with bold foliate-scrollwork on a stippled background with gold inlaid scroll borders, the hammer and lever engraved en suite, both sides with rural scenes, the right with three gold-encrusted rabbits signed L. Sherman, the left with gold-encrusted chased groundhogs, the chequered well-figured replacement stock carved with foliage and ornate borderwork, chequered steel butt-plate, the figured forend carved en suite with forend cap engraved en suite with gold inlaid border-scrolls, the round barrel stamped Made in New Haven, Conn. U.S. Of America Winchester trade Mark Model 62A 22S. L. ORL. R on the left side, with silver and gold inlaid barrel bands and engraved en suite at muzzle and breech ends, with three-quarter length magazine-tube with retaining bands engraved en suite with gold borders, sporting foresight and sporting rear-sight with adjustable centre insert
