The toplevers and ribs numbered '1' and '2' in gold, the fences carved with stylised acanthus leaves, best bouquet and foliate-scroll engraving, the maker's name in a scrolling banner, much hardening-colour, well-figured stocks with wood butt-plates, the chopper-lump barrels engraved Whitworth's Fluid Pressed Steel, with game-ribs engraved F. Beesley, 2 St. James's Street, London, Pall Mall Corner
