Footnotes
The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed in 1899 for Count Alexander Munster, the then owner of Maresfield Park in East Sussex who married a Scottish woman.
These are trigger plate round-action ejector guns, possibly built to resemble boxlock ejectors. It is believed that some clients would have wanted Dickson round-actions, but for them to appear more like standard sidelocks, or in this case, boxlocks.
