The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1937 for a Major C. M. Christie.
Major Christie received the Military Cross in 1919 for his service in the Royal Artillery during the First World War, and was later as a Major General the General Officer Commanding, Anti-Aircraft Defenses, Malta from 12 December, 1942 to 23 May, 1944. He was the brother-in-law of famous crime writer Agatha Christie.
