No serial number visible, incorporating Joseph Smith's patent number 732, unusual sidelever opening, non-rebounding backlocks, the locks and trigger-guard engraved with scenes of game-birds and vignettes of dogs, surrounded by foliate-scrollwork, well-figured stock with chequered butt-plate, the barrels with game-rib engraved David Thomas (successor to G. Farmer) 3 Broad Street, Cardiff
