Incorporating John Farquharson's Patent of 1875, action patent use No. 970, the left side of the action engraved George Gibbs, Bristol & London, best foliate-scroll engraving, full hardening-colour (renewed), shotgun-style safety with stalking latch, the figured stock with pistolgrip, pistolgrip-cap and trap (inset replacement to forward comb), recoil-pad, sling-eyes, replacement forend, the replacement barrel engraved George Gibbs, Bristol & 35. Savile Row, London, W., with block-mounted bead-foresight with folding protector and block-mounted rear-sight

The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed circa 1910 as a .450/400 (3¼) for a Dr Sauer and that it was rebarrelled by them in the 1920s and recoloured
