A Pair Of 14-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pocket Pistols
By T. Barber, Newark, Circa 1775

With turn-off cannon barrels, signed border engraved rounded actions (one tang screw missing) each decorated with a rocaille and foliage on one side and with foliage involving banners on the other, engraved thumbpiece safety-catches (top jaws and screws replaced), trigger-guards each engraved with a shell in an oval on the bow, figured swelling rounded butts each inlaid with fine silver scrollwork involving rocailles on each side and a martial trophy on the back, vacant cast and chased foliate silver escutcheon, and silver grotesque mask butt-caps (some wear and rust patination), London proof marks (2)
