The First Signed Archer, London, Birmingham Silver Hallmarks For 1784, The Second Signed Sharpe, London, Circa 1815

The first with turn-off brass cannon barrel, border engraved brass action signed on a foliate scroll over each side (top jaw and screw replaced), sliding trigger-guard safety-catch originally engraved with a flower-head on the bow, later figured rounded butt with original silver grotesque mask butt-cap, and vacant silver escutcheon (some wear and pitting), private Birmingham proof marks; the second with turn-off brass barrel, brass action stamped 'Sharpe' and 'London' within an oval against crossed banners over each side (cock replaced, thumbpiece safety-catch missing), trigger-guard engraved with a star on the bow, and figured flat-sided butt (some wear overall), private Birmingham proof marks (2)
