A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss-Pistol With Spring Bayonet
By Cartmell, Doncaster, Circa 1820

With two-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, engraved 'Doncaster' along the breech flat and fitted with a bayonet above, engraved tang with bayonet-catch, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock decorated with foliage at the stepped tail, engraved cock, safety-catch and roller, figured full stock (minor old bruising) with flat-sided rounded butt, steel trigger-guard with pineapple-shaped finial, and brass ramrod-pipe (ramrod missing), Tower private proof marks
