A 120-Bore Percussion Adams Patent 1851 Self-Cocking Revolver
By Joseph Brazier & Son, Wolverhampton, No. 30483(?), Mid-19th Century

With octagonal sighted barrel engraved around the muzzle, signed border engraved top-strap, cylinder with engraved forward edge, border engraved action decorated with foliate scrollwork, arbor pin and spring catch (safety-stop missing), trigger-guard en suite with the frame, rammer engraved 'Joseph Brazier's Patent No. 240', chequered figured rounded butt with flat ovoidal pommel (chipped), and some original blueing (surface rust and patination overall), London proof marks

Joseph Brazier & Son of the Ashes, Wolverhampton, were makers of the finest gun-locks and employed some of the best lock-part forgers and die or swage-makers in the country. The company were prize medallists at the Great Exhibition held at Crystal Palace in 1851
