A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss
By Hall, London, Late 18th Century

With two-stage barrel flared at the muzzle and signed at the breech, plain tang, signed flat bevelled lock, figured full stock (fore-stock with minor splits along one side, some old bruising), the butt stamped 'Thos. Ellement' on each side, probably an owner's name, brass mounts of regulation type (forward ramrod-pipe replaced), and later brass-tipped ramrod, Tower private proof marks
