A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss With Spring Bayonet Mounted Beneath

With three-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, octagonal breech becoming polygonal, engraved 'London' and stamped with Irish registration mark 'KD-3334' for Co. Kildare along the top flat, and punched with a line of beadwork at the rear, grooved border engraved tang decorated with foliage, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock (rust patinated, top jaw and screw replaced), figured half-stock (old bruising, toe of butt with large repair) with drop-shaped moulding around the barrel tang, border engraved brass mounts comprising ovoidal side-nail plate engraved with owner's name 'R. Henecy', butt-plate (mostly replaced) with a game bird and foliage on the heel, and trigger-guard in the French manner decorated with a flower-head on the bow (bayonet spring and ramrod missing, forward ramrod-pipe with minor damage), Tower private proof marks
