A 30-Bore Percussion Terry's Patent Breech-Loading Carbine
Retailed By E. & E. Emanuel, The Hard, Portsea, No. 1618, Circa 1860

With blued sighted barrel engraved with retailer's details in front of the calibrated folding adjustable back-sight and rifled with five grooves, the breech engraved with scrolling foliage and 'Terry's Patent 30 Bore' above the loading aperture, bolt with foliate scroll engraved case-hardened handle hinged against an adjustable blued spring, signed border engraved case-hardened detented flat lock decorated with foliate scrollwork, rounded hammer and blued mounts en suite, the latter comprising butt-plate with hinged ovoidal butt-trap cover opening to reveal the original blued steel three-piece cleaning rod, and serial numbered trigger-guard, figured half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, dark horn fore-end cap, sling mounts, and retaining most of its original finish, Birmingham proof marks
