The first with sighted barrel engraved '-Colt-' and pivoting to the right for loading, brass action and bird's head butt originally silvered, spur trigger, and figured rounded grips; the second with sighted barrel, part octagonal breech stamped 'Ballards' on top and with maker's details and patent dates of the left flat, brass frame and bird's head butt originally silvered, sprung chequered cartridge-extractor, spur trigger, and figured grips (both with some wear and rust patination) (2)
