An Italian 25-Bore Wheel-Lock Belt Pistol In Brescian Style Of The Mid-17th Century

With octagonal barrel incised 'Lazarino Cominazzi' between small trefoil-shaped marks along the top flat of the breech, a moulded ramp at the rear, plain tang, flat locks of shaped outline with chiselled annular wheel-retaining bracket and pan each secured by two screws, manually operated pan-cover, and baluster cock chiselled with foliage (spring incomplete), figured full stock (wear and minor damage) inlaid with a steel panel behind the tang pierced and engraved with foliage, butt with ovoidal pommel encircled by a fluted steel band and inlaid with an engraved steel flower-head, steel trigger-guard pierced and chiselled with foliage, pierced baluster trigger, engraved steel fore-end cap, chiselled ramrod-band, slender belt hook, and wooden ramrod with baluster steel tip
